This training is for anyone without previous experience as a hand faller who wishes to begin a career as a professional faller in BC. Employment opportunities for hand fallers are anticipated to remain strong since the workforce is aging and employers will need professionally trained and certified fallers to fill vacancies created by increased retirement rates.

New Faller Training is a challenging and comprehensive 30 day program which involves classroom training, interactive exercises, reviews and evaluations and closely supervised field training involving all aspects of chainsaw operation, falling and bucking.

After students successfully complete this portion of the training, they then complete up to 180 days of on-the-job training before applying for certification. Certified fallers carry a wallet card and a logbook to document their training and experience as they progress through their career.
