This course will help prepare you to do workplace assessments using BC Forest Safety's assessment and training materials. Assessment checklists and training materials (online and printed) have been developed for specific yarding, harvesting, road building and other forestry occupations.

This course is also useful as an overview for competency based training and assessment systems.

This two-day in-person workshop aims to enhance supervisors’ and managers’ leadership and communication skills in the workplace. Participants will gain insights into their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as learn how their personal style influences the workers they oversee.

Prior to the course participants will be required to complete a *web-based personalized "Everything DiSC Workplace Profile" that will reveal:

  • Their DiSC leadership style which will identify how they interact with others, and organize their workload.
  • An overview of other DiSC styles, how people react to each, and strategies to improve effectiveness.
  • Tips and suggestions for improving working relationships with everyone inside and outside of the company with which participants are employed.

*IMPORTANT:

Upon enrolment, an email will be sent to participants with a link to their online DiSC assignment. Ensure this is completed as early as possible after receiving the email.
