Safety Alert
A sawmill employee was using a Bobcat to clean out an area across from the sawmill strip hoist. The operator was lowering the bucket to the back blade when the machine lost power. The operator tried to restart the machine, but the engine did not respond.
When a Bobcat’s bucket is elevated, it prevents the front door from opening. Because the machine lost power while the bucket was in the air, the operator was stuck in the machine and called for help.
