For Internal Auditors

This training is designed for large companies participating in the SAFE Companies program. Successful completion of this course will qualify the participant to conduct a company’s audit during the year two and three “maintenance” years of SAFE certification.

If you want to conduct the internal BASE audit for your company, this training course is mandatory.

Course Content:

Length:

The Internal Auditor course is three days long and includes:

Student selection:

Companies may propose candidates for internal auditor training. Internal Auditor applicants require a combination of forest sector experience, basic level of health and safety experience, and a willingness to develop and apply audit skills.

The candidate must either be an employee of the company or be declared as a dependent contractor of that company. Internal Auditors are not allowed to conduct maintenance audits for more than one employer. The Council also recommends that larger companies send a representative that may not have primary responsibility for the safety program at that company or division. There is value in having a different person conduct the internal audit than the person who created or manages the safety management system.

Cost:

Total cost is $672.00 per student (12% HST included) for course fee and materials.
