Safety Alert
Three Class 2 fires occurred within 24 hours in the press-top area.
After the first two incidents, the area was cleaned and put back into service. However, a further inspection uncovered a hidden cavity inside a metal enclosure. The cavity was collecting wood dust that was partially burnt on the outside but looked normal inside. Heat transfer from the press repeatedly ignited the trapped dust.
