Forest Worker Essentials

Forest Worker Essentials is an educational training program available to training providers to equip new entry-level forestry workers with the knowledge and skills required to work safely in BC’s forest industry.

The program can be delivered province wide by various training providers, including:

  • Post-Secondary and other educational institutions
  • First Nations Organizations
  • Employers
  • Industry associations
  • Other approved training providers entered into a service agreement with the BCFSC

Note: This information is for training providers. Student information will be added when available.

The Program Outline/Administrator Guide provides the program requirements and outcomes. In addition, after entering into the service agreement, the following materials are available: 

  • Instructor guide and resources
  • Lesson plans and supplemental materials
  • Student online learning manual

This program was developed through a funded initiative from the BC Ministry of Advanced Education Skills and Training. The program and materials were piloted from 2019-2021 to deliver for workers new to BC forestry.
