THE PROBLEM:
At the lathe’s step feeder, employees manually cleaned debris multiple times per shift using a long-handled rake. The work was challenging and heavy, and the workers were required to work in a tight space.
THE SOLUTION:
The manual labour task was replaced with CONVEYOR SYSTEMS featuring a slow-moving drag chain that transports debris to a waste conveyor, which deposits it in the loader area. The system is movable, allowing the waste conveyor to be lifted out of the way, and the cross conveyor can be removed easily. The ramp can lay flat for easy access during maintenance of the step feeder. Major repairs on conveyors to be done in the shop while production continues.
