Safety Alert
A dryer ID fan failed during normal operation, causing several fan vanes to be projected upward into the ducting and embedded in the sidewalls. One vane penetrated an 8mm plate in the fan housing, travelling approximately 28 metres and severing a deluge line before striking a catwalk and falling 12 metres to the ground. The remaining vanes collapsed and crumpled inside the fan housing.
