Road Building

This program contains the foundational knowledge for the following road building occupations: Dozer Operator, Excavator Operator, Grader Operator, Wheel Loader Operator and Rock Drill Operator.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this program, you should have an awareness of:

  • Engineering terminology commonly used in forestry road building
  • The primary tools and equipment used in forestry road building.
  • What is required for pre-operation inspections of heavy machinery to ensure safety and functionality.
  • The fundamental mechanical systems of heavy equipment, including hydraulics, engines, and transmission systems.

Duration & Delivery

This program of courses will take approximately 6.5 hours. Free optional content is also included. This is an online program with self-paced, flexible 24/7 access and the expectation of participants completing the program within six months of enrollment.
