Assessors – Training and Assessment

Assessors are experienced and/or certified in the area they are training or assessing. They are role models within their industry. They lead by best practice and demonstrate leadership qualities.

There are two options for training:

1. Free online training. Click on the link below to access the Learning Centre. If you don’t already have a username and password, click on the Create New Account button on the Learning Centre log in screen to self register.

    This course will allow you to demonstrate knowledge of:
    - Purpose and context of assessment
    - Preparing an assessment plan
    - Portfolios of evidence and standardized assessment tools
    - Developing an assessment strategy
    - Use of assessment tools

  • 1059 - Conducting Assessments

    This course will allow you to demonstrate knowledge of:
    - Pre-assessment plan
    - How to conduct competency conversations
    - How to conduct practical assessment
    - Concluding the assessment

  • 1060 - Evidence Reviewing, Decision Making and Providing Feedback

    This course will allow you to demonstrate knowledge of:
    - Rules of evidence
    - Making a decision and using professional judgement
    - Developing gap training plans
    - Providing constructive feedback
    - Recording assessment outcomes
    - Supporting positions in a competency-based system

  • 1061 - Assessment Quality Assurance

    This course will allow you to demonstrate knowledge of:
    - The definition of moderation and validation
    - How moderation and validation contribute to quality assurance
    - How to collect and arrange relevant assessment documents
    - Moderate other Assessors’ decisions
    - Tasks and outcomes related to moderation and validation activities
    - Implement changes to assessment practices
