Professional Industry Driver Online Training

This course provides knowledge that is useful for individuals preparing for a professional driving career in the forest industry and contains important information related to the operation of log trucks, lowbeds and hauling wood fibre.

This course includes an optional activity for self-loading log trucks. Completing it is not required for your record of completion.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the importance of having a good work ethic including being prepared for work, dealing with problems and being able to receive and give feedback
  • Describe the trucking industry including the types of trucks, working conditions and documentation used
  • Demonstrate knowledge of truck components and systems
  • Describe truck configurations, weight and dimensions
  • Understand regulations and standards related to trucking
  • Demonstrate knowledge of driving techniques, loading and unloading log trucks
  • Demonstrate knowledge of wood fibre truck driving

Duration & Delivery

Approximately eight hours. This is an online course with self-paced, flexible 24/7 access.
