BCFSC Response to WorkSafeBC Letter to Employers

ATTENTION EMPLOYERS: WorkSafeBC has recently sent letters to employers registered in Integrated Forest Management and Manual Tree Falling and Bucking in response to the incidents this spring, where two hand fallers suffered fatal injuries and a third faller had a near-miss that could have resulted in a fatal injury.

The message’s intent is to outline support for worker health and safety with a focus on faller supervision and site inspections. BCFSC Falling Safety Advisors have compiled a list of valuable insights to help employers prepare for upcoming site inspections and assist falling supervisors.
