A faller needed to fuel his saw, so he placed it on a wind throw/brush pile. He turned to grab his gas & oil jugs and while turning back around, the powerhead slipped off the log. When the saw slipped it caused the bar to stand straight up and as the faller was turning back around, his elbow came in contact with a tooth on the saw's chain.

The result was a laceration to the left elbow that required 5 stitches.

Findings & Learnings: Do not miss the risks and hazards in the simple and mundane tasks, as even when stopped saw chains have the potential to cause serious injury.
