Faller Supervisor (Bullbucker) Training

Faller supervisors are responsible for making sure certified fallers are qualified to fall and buck timber at their worksite. The three-day faller supervisor training course is intended for experienced and new falling supervisors. It provides participants with basic knowledge about the process of assessing certified fallers against the BC Faller Training Standard, and how to meet the stiffer regulatory requirements set for this occupation.

Length:

This course is three days long, from 8:00 to 4:00.

Day 1 is an instructor led classroom discussion with video presentations

Day 2 and Day 3 are spent on field activities that focus on workmanship and stump evaluation. Included in-field is the completion of a faller evaluation using the BC Faller Training Standard Evaluation Form. Also included is a written quiz.

Pre-requisites:

Satisfactory completion of the two-day Basic Forest Supervisor Course. Certification as a faller is preferred.

Cost:

Total cost for this course is $630.00 (5% GST included)

Please note: When both supervisor courses are offered as a combined 5-day session, the fee is $1,050.00 (5% GST included)

Program Completion:

Completion of the Faller Supervisor course is the first step toward becoming a certified faller supervisor. Just taking the training course does not "certify" the participants. Course participants who move on to become a certified faller supervisor (bullbucker) may be qualified to perform re-evaluations on certified fallers needing to renew or upgrade their certification. Details of the Faller Supervisor certification process will be covered during the three-day Faller Supervisor course.
