Why does the small company have an easier audit? Aren’t they the most unsafe?

The audit for small employers is indeed less demanding to complete, but the audit is still rigorous enough to meet the required standard set by WorkSafeBC.  Small companies typically have fewer resources, less available finances, and less manpower to assist them in developing and running their safety program.  As for being unsafe, each company, regardless of size, should be evaluated on the basis of their performance.  Many small companies have excellent safety programs and safety performance records.
