Holly Barker joins the BC Forest Safety Council as Chief Financial Officer following the retirement of Pat Denham

The Chair and CEO of the BC Forest Safety Council (BCFSC), Reynold Hert, is pleased to announce that Holly Barker will be joining the BCFSC as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective March 16, 2015.

“Pat brought a level of reporting discipline to our organization that will be missed. We wish her well in her retirement. Our loss is Ladysmith’s gain as she plans to volunteer her time and energy to several worthy causes,” said Hert. “In saying goodbye to Pat, we are also excited to have Holly join us and believe that her knowledge, experience, professionalism and people-skills will serve our organization well as it enters its 11th year of operation.”

Holly was most recently assistant payroll manager at BC Ferries. Educated at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Holly is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has held progressively more senior financial roles over the past 10 years.

The British Columbia Forest Safety Council was created in September 2004 as a not-for-profit society dedicated to promoting safety in the forest harvesting industry. The organization is directed by industry and provides training, information, guidance, safety advisor advocacy, safety reviews and audits to industry. The focus is on preventing fatalities and injuries by supporting industry participants implement best practice performance. This covers all harvesting activities from planning, timber development, harvesting and transportation to reforestation. Safety is good business.
