2013-08-09
Company Name:

Details of Incident / Close Call:

A large rock was embedded in the back of a load of logs, but clearly visible (see photo in attached pdf).

Upon review it was determined to be firmly pinched between logs and not movable. The load was reviewed with the driver, who described the loading area as very rocky.

Learnings and Suggestions:
  • With this type of loading area it is important to be aware of the potential for rocks and other debris to be loaded
  • It is always a good idea to check your load for debris and deal with it, before leaving the landing.
