Worker was driving out to work at about 2:15 am, travelling at 80km/h as a moose came down the bank and across the road right in front of the vehicle. The driver didn't have a chance to slow down because it all happened too quickly.
There was damage to the front of the driver’s side of the truck, but the driver was fine.
• Always be on the lookout for wildlife, and even more so at twilight and after sundown
• Resource road uses should use the radio to let other travellers know if they see wildlife
• Pay full attention to the road ahead, don`t get distracted and expect the unexpected!
