Close Call: Air bag bursts on log truck suspension

A log truck driver was tightening U-Bolts on rear suspension of his rig. He left to get some tools and while away heard a loud bang. When the driver returned, he discovered that the air bag on the right rear suspension had burst.

This could have caused very serious injury or even death. The driver was very fortunate that the air bag didn’t burst while he was lying under the truck.

Learnings and Suggestions: 

Always deflate the air bags when doing maintenance on heavy truck suspension.
