November 4, 2009

The BC Forest Safety Council is pleased to announce that Chuck Carter, RPF, is joining the Council in December as its Director of Transportation Safety, based in Prince George.

Chuck will build on the Council’s previous Director of Forestry TruckSafe position. He will develop and lead forestry transportation safety initiatives intended ultimately to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries. This will involve close working relationships with government and industry, with an emphasis on resource roads.

Chuck brings more than 25 years’ industry experience to the Council, most recently as safety coordinator for all of Canfor’s woodlands operations in B.C. and Alberta. Previously, he established a successful track record in the province’s coastal and interior operations, including harvesting management responsibilities, transportation logistics, interface with mills and dealing with First Nations communities.

He earned a B.A. degree in economics from SFU in 1987 and completed the Forestry Pupil Program of the Association of BC Forestry Professionals in 1996.
