BC Forest Safety Council Organization Announcement

Peter Lineen will be joining the BC Forest Safety Council in the new role of Chief Operating Officer effective September 1 reporting to the CEO, Reynold Hert. Reporting to Peter will be the Program Directors: Krista Bax for Safe Companies, Steve Mueller for Forest Worker Development, and the future replacement for the position of Director, TruckSafe.

Suzanne Christensen will be taking the new position of Business Manager reporting to the CEO, Reynold Hert. Suzanne will be responsible for policy development, funding sourcing and renewal with WorkSafeBC and other organizations, Information Technology, as well as development of the Work Plan for the Council. Kevin Armstrong and James Raymond will report to Suzanne.

The role of Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the development and implementation of the programs, training, outreach and interface with the industry. Peter’s most recent assignment was the Director, Environment, Health & Safety for Western Forest Products. Prior to his work with Western, Peter has held a variety of roles including positions with: Weyerhaeuser located in Kamloops supporting the Canadian SPF sawmills and interior BC timberlands in health and safety, Trans Canada Pipelines as Manager of EH&S Audit Services, and Manager of EH&S for Telus.

Peter is currently the Past Chair of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals, and has served as a Director of SAFER from 2005 until the present.
Peter lives in Duncan with his wife Tsering and their two sons. Peter will be based out of the Nanaimo office of the Council.
