| Description: Individual Owner Operator (IOO)
Refresher Training Course What is it? SAFE Companies is a Certificate of Recognition
(COR) program. IOO refresher training is a WorkSafeBC (WSBC) requirement
for all COR participants. Auditors will be required
to complete their training by December 31, 2012 to receive a COR rebate
for 2012. This requirement cannot be assigned to a contractor
or consultant. If you choose not to complete the
required refresher training, you will continue to be SAFE Certified
and registered in the SAFE Companies program, however you will not be
eligible for the rebate. When you first registered for SAFE Companies,
you attended the Individual Owner Operator training (IOO); this made
you the company 'auditor'. To help you improve safety management
within you company, the WorkSafeBC Certificate of Recognition program
requires auditors to attend 4 hours of refresher training every 3 years.
2012 will be the first year the Council has offered the training. What will I learn? The focus of the course will be on helping
you streamline and improve your safety program and audit submission.
The course examines real life case studies of how other companies are
managing safety in their business and identifies improvements to your
safety system to reduce the paperwork burden. What is the duration of this course? Training will be offered in regular classroom
sessions, by teleconference and by computer-based training. In-class
and teleconference training sessions are 4 hours and instructor led.
Computer-based training will be competency based and may or may not
take the full 4 hours to complete. How much does it cost? In-Class Training: $140.00 Please note
space is limited to a maximum 20 participants per classroom training
