E-mail Submission of BASE audits
Effective immediately, external BASE auditors may submit their audit reports to the Council electronically by emailing to craig@bcforestsafe.org
Internal auditors are encouraged, but not required, to submit by email.
Any physical binders already assembled may be shipped or e-mailed at the auditor’s discretion.
The e-mail must have a subject line of: “Company Name BASE audit enclosed”
The email may be structured in one of two ways:

Review method
- The review will proceed as usual, with requests for e-mail of revisions.
- Once the review is complete, QA will notify the auditor via a PDF e-mail that the auditor may send the audit report to the company (or in the case of internal auditors, that the report is approved for distribution within the company). The auditor will then send whatever combination of electronic and /or physical audit reports that they have pre-arranged with their client/company.
- QA will also notify the company of the conclusion of the review, their score and future audit timelines.
- QA will retain at least an electronic copy of the audit report final copy in the Council file system.
- The auditor must NOT send a copy of the report to the client until approved by QA.
- Internal audits (only) with a low number of issues will be approved without mandatory revisions, with the summary of issues from the audit review included in the approval letter for the auditor to incorporate into future annual reports.
Future Directions
This is a bridge method until a uniform BASE 2.1 electronic submission format is developed, tested and communicated.
