Important Registration Information (fees and process)

Thank you for using the online registration feature of for SAFE Companies Program. Before you continue there are a few things you need to know:

In addition to general company contact information, you should have the following information ready before you begin your on-line registration:

  • Complete payment information;
    • Credit card number, expiry date, CVD# (3 digit security);
  • WCB Account # ;
  • Classification Unit (CU) # ;
  • Count of # of field, administrative and dependent contractor employees.

NOTE: On-line registration does time-out with inactivity. It also does not allow you to re-access your registration account information once you hit “submit”. If your online SAFE Companies registration has been submitted and you require revisions please contact Laurel Laturnus at 1.877.741.1060 or by email at Laturnus@bcforestsafe.org

The registration process and cost to register your company in SAFE Companies is dependent on your company size:

  • Independent Employer - Individual Owner/Operator or you have no more than 2 employees, including the owner, principal, and/or employees of your dependent contractors - $131.25 (includes GST) - for more information on this please click here.
  • Small Employer - 3 -19 employees, including employees of your dependent contractors - $630.00 (includes GST)
  • Large Employer - 20+ employees, including employees of your dependent contractors - $1,260 (includes GST)

All companies that register receive a Safety Toolkit, which is a comprehensive resource that is designed to help companies develop a health and safety program, or check that their existing program meets current sector safety standards. A copy of the Safety Toolkit is mailed to your company once your registration is complete. The package also includes a CD of safety forms, templates, and sample policies that you can use to develop and improve your company’s safety program.

Small employers also have access to the services of a Safety Advocate. Safety Advocates are people with many years of experience in the BC forest harvesting sector. They are trained by the Council to review the programs of small employers and provide advice on how to develop or improve those programs or provide assistance with the final stages of your small employer audit submission. The service is free of charge to you, provided you and your company meet the required criteria. Registration information for upcoming courses can be found here
