Injury Prevention Webinar: Slips, Trips & Falls

These free sessions cover strategies for managing slips, trips and falls injuries. Material covered includes the mechanics of gait; effective pre-season preparation; ergonomic considerations; simple field-based observations and coaching techniques for reducing front-line worker slips, trips and falls. These webinars are designed for crew bosses, supervisors, safety coordinators, joint OH&S committee members and company managers.

This webinar is presented by BC Forest Safety Council staff, along with Rob Fontaine of Ergorisk Management Group.

Rob has a wealth of knowledge he applies across all disciplines - from performing office ergonomics initiatives and industrial musculoskeletal injury risk assessments, to developing functional job descriptions and biomechanics/movement safety initiatives. Rob’s work includes clients in heavy industries in BC and Alberta, including Forestry, Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, Shipping and Railways.

Rob also specializes in overall ergonomics and early intervention program development and implementation. He earned a Master’s Degree in Science, Human Bio-Dynamics, in 1995 at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

What is the webinar duration? 1½ hours

How are the sessions offered? The WebEx program is an easy web-based download to your computer. You will need a computer equipped with speakers and an internet connection. If you don’t have speakers, you can call a special phone number to access the audio component of the webinar. Note: Please allow 5-10 minutes prior to the session to download the program.

How much does the webinar cost? These webinars are free for BC forestry companies and their employees. Multiple employees from one company are most welcome!

How do I register? Complete an enrollment form and then send it to training@bcforestsafe.org or fax to 250-741-1068. Confirmation details on your invitation to the webinar will be e-mailed prior to the session start.
